Mr. Toby Allman, Treasurer

Toby Allman has lived in Swain County most of his life.  He has been an Accountant with Smith & Company since 1994.  Toby is very active in the community, serving on the boards of several nonprofit groups over the years, such as the Swain County Community Foundation, the Swain County United Gift Fund, the Rotary Club of Bryson City, the District 7670 Rotary Finance Committee, the Smoky Mountain Community Theatre, the Swain High School London Scholarship Committee, the Tennessee River Baptist Association Finance Committee, and the SCC Accounting & Business Advisory Board.  He is a member of Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he serves in several positions such as Youth Director, Puppet Ministry Director, and Church Historian.  Toby is married to Judy McFalls Allman.  He has been the Treasurer of Swain County Caring Corner since October 2014.

Ted is the Associate Pastor in Spiritual Formation and Youth at First Baptist Church of Bryson City.

Ms. Ann Edison

Ann graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University with a BS in Microbiology in 1980.  She received MS in Microbiology from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1986.  She worked at Merck & Co, and GlaxoSmithKline as both a research scientist and a clinical trials monitor.

Ms. Donna Ennis, Chair

Donna graduated from Hollins University, Roanoke, VA in 1973 with a BA in Divisional Social Sciences.  She has worked with the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City in both the rafting and Human Resources departments.  She was the chair of NOC’s charitable donations committee. Donna volunteered at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where she supervised volunteers who escorted the medal winners at the Whitewater venue when they received their awards and met with the press.  In Bryson City, Donna is on the Boards of the Swain County United Gift Fund and of Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Dr. Mike Hamrick, DDS

Dr. Hamrick received his DDS from Emory University in 1978.  Dr. Hamrick formerly served on the board of the Swain County Health Department and retired from dentistry in 2014.

Ms. Debbie Millen, RN

Deborah’s nursing career began in 1976.  She graduated from The University of Tampa with a B.S in Nursing and received a MSN from the University of Phoenix.  She has retired from the Veteran’s Healthcare Administration following 30 years of service across a variety of settings including both clinical and leadership roles.  She has served as a Health Program Coordinator for theCounty of Sacramento Medical Clinics that provided Integrated Primary Care.   She has also served as a Medical Clinic Director for Moses Lake Community Health Center that is dedicated to serving migrant and seasonal farm workers, the uninsured, underinsured and others who have difficulty accessing care.

Mr. Arthur Tribble, Rph

Arthur graduated from the University of Georgia in 1983 with a Bachelors of Pharmacy degree.   Since then he has worked in various retail settings including Revco, Wal-Mart and Kerr Drug.  He was director of Pharmacy at the Augusta Correctional and Medical Institute, a hospital prison.  He served on the board of the Swain County Health Department, is a member of the Bryson City United Methodist Church, and is currently employed at Bryson City Pharmacy.

Ms. Sheila Matthes

Ms. Matthes has served on the board of the Westcare Foundation and currently manages the Swain Community Hospital Thrift Store.

Ms. Tammy Stephenson, RN

Tammy received her RN from Southwestern Community College in 1984.  She is currently the Emergency Department Care Coordinator at Swain Community Hospital.

Dr. Frank VanMiddlesworth, MD, PhD, Medical Director

Dr. Frank graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Chemistry in 1977.  Received PhD in Chemistry from Emory University in 1982 and completed post-graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin. He carried out research in drug discovery at Merck & Co and GlaxoSmithKline.  Dr. Frank received his MD from the University of North Carolina in 2003 and was a resident at the Family Medicine Rural Tract program of MAHEC in Hendersonville, NC 2003-2006.  In addition to volunteering at SCCC, Dr. Frank is a physician in the Emergency Department of the Swain Community Hospital in Bryson City.
